3 Metabolism Boosters for Rapid Fat Loss

In fact, despite what many men and women think, more challenging exercise is better for your metabolism. However, please note that 1 pound of muscle does not burn 50 calories per day.
In one study, women received a greater metabolic boost from using lower repetitions per set rather than traditional high-rep (12 reps) sets.
So stick to more challenging body weight exercises (pushups and more advanced body-weight exercises) and lift heavy! That’s my client Vicky who started training with me without being able to do a single pushup. Pictures don’t lie, and you can see for yourself that she’s smaller, and more toned even though she would bang out approximately 40-50 pushups per session and did compound movement exercises using nothing less than 12-15 pound dumbbells! Lifting heavy is the key to building metabolism-revving muscle, leaning out, and looking and feeling stronger than ever before.
Metabolic Booster #2 Ice Cold Water with Lemon Juice Squeezed into it
Claim: The body will burn calories warming up the water and the lemon juice also burns more fat.
Truth? Nice in theory, short in practice. Nobody is losing fat with ice cold water. If it were true, trust me I wouldn’t have a such a hard time suggesting my members to drink at least 2L a day.
If you really want to lose weight, make sure to drink warm water with lemon in the morning to lose fat, release toxins and improve digestion (#FitTip add a small amount of cayenne pepper.) Lemons contain citric acid, magnesium, bioflavonoids, vitamin C, pectin, calcium and limonene, which supercharge our immunity so that the body can fight infection.
Metabolic Booster #3 Cardio Worse than Pizza/Interval Training Superior
Claim: Interval training causes a greater increase in post-exercise metabolism than regular cardio. In fact the Wall Street Journal claims cardio is as bad as cheeseburgers.

And I can vouch for this, from first hand experience with clients who come to me with a background of doing hour long jogs or aerobic classes year after year without any significant weight loss, or physical changes.
A recent study from Australia found that a shorter interval program led to more weight loss than a twice-as-long aerobic training program. This confirms the original interval training study from as far back as 1994 that showed greater results from a shorter interval program when compared to a traditional cardio program. Bye-bye hour long traditional workouts!
Bottom line: Intervals work!
Hard work, consistent, and diligent habits of eating the right way burns more calories and that magic pills and potions simply don’t work.
